Many of my patients in
Worcester, MA try to do their own treatments before they come to the office for
warts. One of the most common treatments they try is acid treatment utilizing
topical salicylic acid to help with the warts. This acid treatment can be
applied once a day or a few times a week and it makes a white discoloration on
the wart and it helps the wart to become more superficial. This is one of the
easiest treatments to try before you go to see a podiatrist, but a few points:
Make sure you do not have diabetes or poor blood flow. If you have this, make
sure that you do not have a callus and it is a wart. And if it has been a
number of weeks and it is not getting better, you should probably seek out
professional help.
